We are pleased to

rare collection
of foward thinking
abstract construction
paper collages
and watercolors
on paper by Andre'
Smith, whose
first known abstract
works date to
1912. These extraordinary
works were created
when Smith was
recovering from
major surgery
which was the
result of an
injury sustained
during Army training.
Smith, an avowed
modernist, was
the driving force
behind the Maitland
Florida Research
Studio Art Center,
which was recently
discovered and
has never before
been offered
for sale, resided
in the personal
collection of
Smith's longtime
friends Attilio
and Florence
Banca.
