Roger Selchow
(American
1904-1994)
|
Roger Selchow was born in Greenwich, CT and studied at the Grand Central School of Art and Columbia University. He also studied in the 30's with L'Hote and Leger in Paris, and at the Institute of Art in Florence. He exhibited extensively in Europe as well as the United States, and his works can be found in the permanent collections of NYU, Musee des Beaux Arts, Belgium, Berkshire Museum, Metropolitan Museum, Brooklyn Museum, Wadsworth Athenuem, the Bruce Museum, and the Wichita Art Museum.
Selchow's movement within Europe's vanguard artists, writers and poets influenced both his life and work. His art is informed by Constructivism, Precisionism, the Bauhaus, and far Eastern influences. We are pleased to offer a select group of the artist's works from the 50's and 60's.
